Final weekend of the ETCC takes place in Most, Petr Fulín will try to defend his lead on home soil
05.10.2017
Autodrom Most hosts sixth and the last weekend of this season of the European Touring Car Cup. During the last two races of the year, the standings leader Petr Fulín will try to hold his lead in front of three rivals, which would gain him his third European title.
"I am looking forward to Most weekend as much as for any other race in the year. It will be pleasant to race in front of home crowd, I like the circuit, but this will not secure us the title alone," says Czech racer before the weekend. Fulda's advantage over his rivals in title chase is six, seven and eight points, so every race can be decisive. Fulda is aware of that: "It is essential to drive with responsibility, I would say ‘drive by head’. Single race can turn the leaderboard completely, Schreiber, Nagy and Stefanovski are strong competitors. I wouldn‘t like if some retirement influenced the title, so we pay as much attention as possible for the preparation as usual."
In the last weekend, another one Petr Fulín will appear on the Most track – son of the double champion. After last year‘s participation in Škoda Octavia Cup, 21 year old racer will appear on home track together with "Fulda dad". "I got the information about my start two weeks ago, when I received text message from dad, telling me to renew my licence. I am looking forward to races, it will be interesting to be on the grid with my father. My aim is mostly to get experience, it will be my debut with this car and for almost a year I am travelling mainly with public service," says Petr Fulín junior. "I am glad that with the support of SEAT Czech republic we secured this start. Petr will drive under our brand Fullin Race Academy and I believe he will enjoy races," adds Petr Fulín senior.
Within Fulda‘s academy, two more members will intriduce themselves in the series, Czech Petr Čížek and Pole Maciej Laskiewicz, who will both debut in the ETCC as well. Drivers‘ performances can be watched on the live timing or on Facebook, both Sunday races will be broadcasted on Eurosport 2.
