Petr Fulín will not join FIA WTCR

09.05.2018

Triple champion of FIA ETCC series will not start in upcomming FIA WTCR event. Although the first part of season 2018 came out great for Fulin, he didn’t obtain the wild card for his start in FIA WTCR Race of Germany. Fulda, who showed up in 2018 season with one victory and one second place in ADAC TCR Germany series, will not present himself on the grid during this weekend on Nürburgring circuit.

“That is new situation for me, I’m disappointed as well as annoyed now. Firstly FIA approved wild card for my start, I complied with all legal procedure including cover of entry fee, however day after of the confirmation of my start on Nürburgring a representative of the promoter called me and deprived the wild card for the entry to FIA WTRC. Honestly say, I don’t understand the reason “too many cars on the grid”. The limit of number of the participants is set for all race tracks, that means, the officials apparently review the 4-km long race track the same as Nordschleife. Moreover the officials are the same FIA and same promoter as last year, when ETCC a WTCC started on Nordschleife altogether with noticeably higher number of the cars on the grid. We can’t do anything with that except respect the decision and wish good luck to Maťo,” said Fulín.

At the moment Petr’s team Fullin Race Academy is searching an alternative event for Fulín, which could be suitable substitution for FIA WTCR and where Fulda with his Cupra TCR race car could follow in successful season 2018. “We made some changes in our race calendar, we will publish the plans for the rest of the season soon,” finished Fulin his speech.
