2012 ETCC goes to the final!

21.06.2012

The last two races are ahead of Petr Fulin this coming ETCC race weekend at Imola circuit. Czech driver travels to Italy with a theoretical chance for the title, but a technical regulation is not on his side so he would rather concentrate on fighting the best position among the cars with petrol engines.

Crew of mechanics and the team moved to Imola from another stop of 2012 Fulda Tour in Prague Letnany OC. However, the last distribution of points in ETCC season waits for them, Petr is on the third place in the overall standings with 37 points to his credit. He loses 13 points to the leader Fernando Monje, to the second Peter Rikli just one single point, but the chances for overall victory is far unrealistic without a little help of luck. If will be decision made in a direct fight on the track Petr is at a disadvantage thanks to his weight handicap combined with incomparable gasoline and diesel engine characteristic. However, Petr certainly does not consist guns and intends to fight for the best result.

„To the last round I'm traveling with mixed feelings. It is evident from the documents for the weekend, that the promoter not adversely affected the technical regulation and SEAT Leon TDI remains at an advantage. The situation is in fact worse. Our car gets an additional 15 kg after second place in Austria. But I look forward to my first race at Imola. I and the team will do our best in the battle for second place in the final standings.”
